"Anglo Thai Cultural Exchange, Ltd" is an
organization dedicated to improving the lifestyle of impoverished
students in Northeastern Thailand by means of education - including Homestay Programs, Scholarship Grants and Books & Computer Donations.
The cornerstone of this organization is
the fundamental belief that education is the key to breaking the cycle
of poverty and taking control of one’s own life....
Homestay Programs We believe that teaching English can be
best done by native speakers. Anglo Thai Cultural Exchange
offers University Students the opportunity to volunteer their time
teaching English in schools throughout Northeastern Thailand. ATCE will provide all necessary arrangements including Homestay with a
local family. Volunteers will benefit from the ability to learn,
explore and correspond with those of another culture very different
from theirs. Volunteers will gain a life-long experience.
Although dedicated to the mission of providing volunteers to Thailand,
we do realize that this is not possible for everyone. We do
ask and can accommodate those who wish to do both - volunteer then
go into a paid placement. We do not provide paid placements
ourselves, but can lead you into the right direction as to choosing
the school which is right for you.
Scholarship Grants
We are hopeful that with generous
corporate and donations to our charity, we can provide sponsorship to
Thai students to attend a higher education at the university level.
University fees can be very expensive for rural families and we hope
to have the ability to defray these costs to students who deserve the
chance for higher education. We hope to give priority to those
studying English as a major. Those students who excel in their studies
with the British university students, we hope, will be considered for
our Scholarship Program.
Books & Computers Donations:
Being associated with Thai Book Drive,
Inc., we hope to continue on our successful journey of donating books
to various different provinces in the northeastern section of
Thailand. In the near future, granted that we are gifted with computer donations, we hope to set up, maintain and install computers to
schools to not only assist them with English education but all
subjects taught at the school. In today's world, computers can be a
very important accessory to efficient learning and can benefit
students greatly.
