Books and Computer Donations:
Over the past three
years, the founder of Thai Book Drive, Inc, Andrew Titley, has
collected over 120,000 school books from generous donors in the USA.
Andrew has arranged to have these books shipped to Thailand and hand
delivered to over 200 schools throughout Northeast Thailand.
These books are playing a major role in the education of students
learning English as a second language. Trevor Titley, 17, has
now assumed responsibility for Thai Book Drive and the 2006/2007
Campaign is now underway.
Andrew is now resident in the UK and
seeking to expand this operation. Our immediate needs are:
a) School Books - if you know of
any school, library or institution with either excess or unwanted
school books, kindly contact us. We will arrange pick-up and
shipping to Thailand. Unfortunately we cannot accept books that
are religious in nature.
b) Computers - if you know of
any intuition looking to dispose of excess computers (must be late
model), monitors and/or printers, kindly contact us. We will
arrange pick-up and shipping to Thailand where we will reformat these
computers with Windows (Thai). Ultimately they will be installed
in schools and equipped with Internet capabilities.
